About
Sophie & Sierra’s Place is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating abused, neglected, abandoned horses, dogs, and cats from their current situation.
Named after their beloved Sophie the German Shepherd and Sierra, the Yellow Labrador, Sophie & Sierra’s Place was founded in 2020 by Julie and Charles Myers, to address the need for animal physical rehabilitation and rescue options in Horry and Georgetown counties.
Rehabilitation Therapy
Canine Water Therapy
Canine water therapy usually consists of either walking or swimming in the water, whether in shallow water in a pool or on an underwater treadmill.
Physical Stability Therapy
Helping animals regain functional ability, muscle strength, coordination, and range of motion.
Cold Laser Therapy
Cold laser therapy is a noninvasive procedure that uses light to stimulate cell regeneration and increase blood circulation.
Hyperbaric Chamber
This airtight chamber helps dissolve the oxygen in the blood and assists high levels of oxygen in reaching the tissues.
